Headquater Story

Women in Big Data (WiBD) started in 2015 with the mission to inspire and connect women in big data careers. Initially it started with 15 members and one chapter in San Francisco’s Bay Area. Gradually the WiBD community grew to over 17,000+ members across 39 chapters and six continents spreading inspiration, growing networks, and promoting member success on an ever-expanding platform. In 2020, the organization legally marked itself as non-profit. It then grew further big expanding funding capabilities and laying a foundation for a new mission.

Our Story

Gender diversity are not taken into consideration when it comes for big companies to prioritize their working manpower. Also, women are not often to purse their career in techincal field. Big data forum is hence established to encourage both the sides to priortize gender diversity when it comes to technicality, specially big data.

We work for industry leaders and collection of women with the same motto to address the shortage of females in the Big data workforce. Our goals are to  grow the success of women in big data.

Our Regional Team

Anjani Phuyal

South Asia Region Lead

Anjani Phuyal is a Global CTO of Genese Solutions, an Academic Facilitator, a Cloud Consultant, an Entrepreneur, and a Public Speaker. He is a passionate tech enthusiast who has already served over 15 years in the tech field.  He has also been working to bridge the gender gap between academia and industry through his various initiatives and affiliations.  He has his involvements in many non-profit organizations including the Girls in Tech Nepal Chapter and has currently been serving as a regional lead in Women in big data- South Asia chapter.
